Internet
Marketing continues to be a dark horse as far as traditional
marketers are concerned especially in India. The results of
Internet marketing are not well documented in India and experiences
are very varied. However in our experience many Indian marketers
take quite unbalanced decisions about the medium - they either
dismiss it lightly or overestimate it. They often fail to integrate
it with the rest of their marketing strategy. Typically they
use the medium to cull out variety of information about their
target market - but their own sites dont have the content which
their target market maybe looking for !
Common uses of Internet Marketing
today are
To secure leads and sales via
the Internet and online methodologies
To improve and influence visibility of the organisation and
for PR purposes
To increase visits to the website
To be found on major search engines for popular keywords

Web Conferences
:
Typically
we gather a critical mass of your target market and do a live
flash movie presentation where you advocate your services and
products - entirely online. The method is very effective since
you can do typical STP marketing and can have enough background
about the attendees.
Online Press
Releases :
Sustained
press releases over a period of time for high retention and
visbility on highly credible newsletters which are never missed
by your target audiences. Currently this service is available
for markets in Australia, US, UK , Asia- Pacific.
Keyword
buying :
Costs
about $100/keyword.
Client can buy certain keywords on a annual basis eg. ‘Corrosion
prevention’. Whenever a user types these keywords into
the address bar of a browser (available only in IE4.x, 5.x and
6.0) he will be immediately taken to the client site. Period
valid for a year only.
Express
submission :
Yahoo
and Altavista particularly offer express submission service
where they promise that their search robot or a volunteer will
look at the submitted site within 7 days. They do not guarantee
that the site will be included in their engines just because
they have seen the site. Probably this is to prevent only those
sites which do not fit well with keywords from appearing on
the search engine. Cost varies from 299$ on yahoo to 39$/1st
URL , 29$/2nd URL, on altavista. Highly effective for short
term promotions and for quick results. Costs recur every year.
Multiple countries also can be advertised in. Most importantly
the site should not be already listed in the Yahoo! Directory.

Pay per
click schemes :
These
are schemes where if a keyword is typed in the browser an advertisement
of the client site is automatically advertised in the prominent
right hand corner. Or on Google the client site comes up first
on top. Cost is on a bidding basis. It varies based on click
through ratio and cost per click.
